Happy Valentine's Weekend
10 years ago yesterday James asked me to marry him! Glad he asked -- glad I said yes. Thankful for all we've shared together. Life sure is sweeter all the way around with him in it with me!

Merry and Happy
“Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”

It's The Holiday Season
Lots has happened since I blogged last. My sister, Melissa, came to visit us. We went to Disneyland and the beach and so many places. Had such a blast. I went home to where I grew up and got to be there for my dad's birthday as well as my grandmother's. Got to judge a big show called Tiger Tunes at OBU's homecoming. Was in a commercial for the state of Arkansas. Hung out with my sisters on Halloween. Went to NYC and my husband James took me and our dogs to Napa for my birthday. Made new friends, saw old friends, received random acts of kindness and gifts, enjoyed sunsets, read books, and worked out looking at the beach, tried new things like Shape House to name a few things.
Here is a slideshow (in no particular order) .......

Pebre Sauce from Community Seafood Fisherman Santa Barbara
Marinade:
- Orange juice (enough to cover the shark in a ziplock)
- juice of 1 lime
- 1 Serrano pepper
- 2 cloves garlic
- salt
- olive oil
Pebre Sauce:
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 shallot
- 1 handful cilantro
- 1/3 jalapeño
- 1 serrano
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 Tbsp white vinegar
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper
Preparation:
Set fish aside in a bag/container with all of the chopped up marinade ingredients and let it rest in the fridge for an hour.
While you wait, make the pebre sauce as it will benefit from having some time to sit as well. Chop the shallot, garlic, jalapeño, serrano, and cilantro and briefly sautée in a bit of olive oil. Then put in the food processor and blend. Let it sit for an hour.
Remove fish from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels. Warm up your grill, season the fish and lightly oil it. Grill the fish for about 5 minutes per side. Then plate it, scoop on a generous helping of pebre sauce and enjoy!
