Roses And The Vine

Legend has it that wine makers grew roses around the vineyard to protect the grapes. Roses were planted in between the vines to attract insects with their colors and sweet smell. The roses would be the line of defense being attacked by bugs and work as a signal to the winemaker in helping protect the vines. With everything we know today this is no longer necessary, but some wine makers like to have that beautiful old look of roses with their vines. I like that story.
