In thinking about successful relationships whether personal or business it seems to be where differing ideas are not only allowed but allowed to flourish. Coming together to make for a better perspective. Not being afraid of the differences but rather embracing them to see what forms.
“Senator Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader, said, “My one priority, my top priority is preventing a second Obama term,” for me that sums it up. The leaders of this party are directing it with a focus on tearing down the other guy because they are afraid of their differing opinion. Afraid of what it can do to them. The ones controlling this party want only one voice – one say – THEIRS and are scared of anything else for what it may due to their status, their way of life, their investments.
A public servant at the very heart should not be focused on oneself but rather focused on others. How can winning at any cost be a characteristic that best serves everyone?
When someone is grounded and rooted in truth they have nothing to fear and are of sound principle. They don’t have to behave defensively and attack. There is a silent, strong, but most importantly a respectful confidence in their actions. Respect is very important to bringing middle ground.
Republican’s behave the opposite of anything resembling respect to a differing opinion. They’ve have poured billions into figuring out how people think. Then learning to speak their language for the sake of getting voted into office in pursuit of serving themselves and their interest. Like the pied piper they learned and play their song well and have many followers. Unfortunately, following to the end of which is unspeakable. What happens? Well, slowly but surely, rights are pulled away from citizens. Irony emerges where the good is attacked and becomes displayed as evil and evil becomes what’s held as good. They go after anything that hurts the individual goal of themselves to hurt the many. The lawyer is the last defense we as individuals have to protect ourselves. How is the lawyer viewed now evil or good?
Funny the things we learn as a child and come back to years later. As a child I remember learning when you point a finger there are three pointing back at you. What someone claims is an argument against you is really an argument against themselves. In reality the Republicans are the ones greed driven not the lawyers but if they can get you focused on the lawyers and not them they protect themselves and not you. If big business is no longer in check and held accountable they aren’t able to keep control. And they bank on us not realizing this because chances our the need hasn’t arrived in our life for a lawyer therefore we just don’t know. Necessity is the mother of realization and invention.
Again I go back to childhood, like the story of Pinocchio going to Pleasure Island – all the boys think it’s pure pleasure but when discovery is anything but pure pleasure it’s too late. Someone else was pulling their strings. You think you’re voting for one thing and your really voting for something else. Something that not only not serves you but that serves someone else and harms you. And all along they knew exactly what they were doing. Like in Alice and Wonderland the walrus knew what he was going to do to the oysters.
I think one of the most challenging things in life is coming face to face with different truths. Sometimes we find we were wrong and we just can’t admit that so we dig our heels in an ungrounded place. Or we fight truth because the truth hurt all too deeply like our love no longer being reciprocated or that we are being abused. In acting we are only as good as we are truthful and it takes so much work to get to the point where you can be truthful. It teaches me how untruthful I was unknowingly living. Man o man!
The essence of truth is a loving thing. And once we have recognized truth we have a duty to speak it regardless of who listens. Speaking is quite different from announcing or articulating or attacking. It’s focus is on lovingly imparting a truth you believe in your heart of hearts to be true and sharing this truth in a liberating way giving freedom of those with whom you are speaking to possibly have a differing view. Knowing no fear.
When you don’t have facts on your side you use your trust to create fears. It’s a very sick thing because it stops at nothing to take what it wants and the cost far too great to monetize. In a word Republican is for ONE the few the ones on top and keeping it that way all the while singing a song and dance that make many believe they are a part of that “one” group. Stealing your very life.
Democrats in nature are for the many. For focusing on serving the many in the way their abilities afford them the opportunities. There is not a focus on manipulating and learning a new language to “act the part” to get the vote to self serve. Are they perfect? By any means, no, absolutely not. Do they have problems? Yes. Are they all good, no. But on a whole they don’t choose to serve – it chooses them and they are duty bound. They feel obligated to fight for the many. It’s not easy, the Republicans make sure of that – it is a real fight. They have billions and they are bent on keeping it that way – billions in the hands of a few. So when you go up against them you better believe it’s a fight to the finish. And so it goes and so it ends. Things change is it a no we won’t change or no we can’t change or ‘yes we can change?’
Here are some of Republican President from 1901 - 1909 Theodore Roosevelt's quotes from the Museum Of Natural History.....
The nation behaves well if it treats the natural resources as assets which it must turn over to the next generation increased; and not impaired in value.
Conservation means development as much as it does protection.
Manhood
A man's usefulness depends upon his living up to his ideals insofar as he can.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.
All daring and courage, all iron endurance of misfortune-make for a finer, nobler type of manhood.
Only those are fit to live who do not fear to die and none are fit to die who have shrunk from the joy of life and the duty of life.
